Camp Shetek’s Doctrinal Statement

Since the Camp’s inception in 1948, our ministry is focused on sharing and showing the love of Jesus Christ by “providing a quite, peaceful, lakeside setting as a meeting place with God.”  Please read our Doctrinal Statement below or download it here.

  1. A.We believe that the Bible is the fully-inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe it is without error in the original manuscripts. It is our authority for faith and practice.

  2. B.We believe that God exists eternally in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  3. C.We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place for the remission of sin, rose again from the grave, ascended to the Father to intercede on our behalf, and is coming again in power and glory.

  4. D.We believe that every person is a sinner by nature and practice and cannot save himself.  He, therefore, must receive Jesus as personal Lord and Savior from sin.

  5. E.We believe in the deity and personal nature of the Holy Spirit who convicts all men of sin. He indwells all Christians enabling them to live in obedience to Christ.

  6. F.We believe in the great commission which our Lord gave to His Church to evangelize the world and that this evangelization is the great mission of the Church of Jesus Christ today.

  7. G.We believe in the eternal salvation of every child of God and eternal life in God’s presence in heaven. We believe in the endless suffering in hell of all who reject Christ.

  8. H.We believe in water baptism by immersion after salvation for every believer, not as a means of salvation, but as a step of obedience.

  9. I.We believe in observing the Lord’s table as Christ commanded, in remembrance of Him;
    that the elements represent the broken body and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that all those who have been born again are eligible to partake.
  10. J.We believe that God has entrusted to the Church the ministry of evangelism and discipleship so that others may come to know Him and be nurtured in their faith to maturity in Christ.
